How to Calculate Mean
The mean can be calculated simply by summing the numbers in the list and then dividing by the number of values. This is the arithmetic mean, also known as the regular average, and is represented by the symbol \(\bar{x}\).
The average can often be affected by outliers, and in such cases the median might be the preferred measure.
To use this calculator, separate each number with a space (example: 2 5 4 etc). For decimal numbers, you can use either a comma or a dot. Do not use thousand separators or letters.
